PADI Bubblemaker is a one-day experience that introduces 8-9 year old children to the world of scuba diving. Children aged 10+ should usually complete Discover Diving because it offers more options.

The Bubblemaker experience is conducted in a stunning open-air cenote where we can take your child diving up to the maximum permitted depth of 2m / 6ft. The water in the cenotes is crystal clear and calm. An instructor will be next to your child the entire time, and we have dedicated equipment designed for small children, including smaller tanks.

Although this is not a coral reef dive, there are many small fish to see and children can still enjoy the feeling of exploring the underwater world.

The cenotes are an ideal location for Bubblemaker because many areas are shallow. Even at 2m / 6ft, your child can feel like they are well below the surface while still staying in a controlled, pool-like environment.

Private family tour

Because we need to complete this experience in an open-air cenote, this is a highly personalized family tour.

One of our instructors will drive a truck for up to 4 people to take part in the trip. The day can often be built around a combination of PADI Bubblemaker, Discover Diving, snorkeling, or certified fun dives for family members.

Due to the personal nature of the tour it is probably best to get in touch with us directly before booking so we can make sure we arrange everything perfectly for you.

Can we dive in the ocean?

Around the world, the Bubblemaker course is typically conducted in a swimming pool. This is because the experience follows PADI rules that require us to conduct the dives in pool-like conditions: no current, no waves, and good visibility.

Fortunately, some of the gorgeous cenotes we have here in Mexico meet these criteria, so this is a great opportunity for your child to dive in an incredible environment.

Unfortunately our shallow ocean dive sites do not meet the pool-like conditions criteria, so it is not possible to complete the Bubblemaker experience in the ocean.

Garden of Eden and Casa Cenote

We have one cenote available where the conditions meet the requirements for Bubblemaker: Garden of Eden. If you would like to see two completely different cenotes, we may also be able to visit Casa Cenote, also known as Cenote Manati.

At Casa Cenote, a Bubblemaker child cannot scuba dive under the Bubblemaker program, but they may be able to snorkel with another family member while other participants complete a fun dive or Discover Diving experience with our instructor.

Casa Cenote is a beautiful mangrove cenote and very different from Garden of Eden, which is a more classic sinkhole cenote. Casa Cenote is close to the ocean and contains a mixture of freshwater and ocean fish. Since mangroves are nurseries for many ocean fish, we can often find juvenile fish here.

An additional local charge will be required to cover transport and entry fees for a second cenote. Please contact us before booking if this is something you would like to arrange.

Medical Eligibility

Recreational scuba diving requires good physical and mental health. Some medical conditions can be hazardous while diving; if you have concerns, review the diver medical questionnaire with your physician before booking training by visiting ScubaMedical.com.
